Anambra State Ministry of Lands
Who We Are
The Anambra State Ministry of Lands was established to manage and regulate all land-related matters in the state, in line with the Land Use Act of 1978 and other relevant statutes. Our mandate is to ensure orderly land administration, secure land tenure, and promote sustainable land use for the socio-economic development of Anambra State.
To provide efficient, transparent, and accessible land administration services that protect land rights, facilitate investment, and foster inclusive growth.
To be a model land ministry in Nigeria, leveraging technology and best practices to deliver world-class land services to all stakeholders.
Established in 1991 following the creation of Anambra State, the Ministry has evolved from a manual, paper-based operation to a digitally enabled institution. Key milestones include the introduction of the Land Information System (LIS) in 2015, the digitization of land records in 2018, and the launch of the online C-of-O application portal in 2021. Today, we serve over 120 communities across 21 local government areas, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
