Who We Are
The Anambra State Ministry of Agriculture was established to drive agricultural transformation across the state. Our mission is to ensure food security, create sustainable livelihoods, and position agriculture as the primary driver of economic growth.
To make Anambra the food basket of the South-East and a model for climate-smart, technology-driven agriculture in Nigeria.
Milestones
Created alongside the state to coordinate agricultural development across 21 LGAs.
Launched the Agricultural Development Programme (ADP) with 150 field officers.
Introduced the Anambra Farmers' Fund, disbursing ₦200M in the first year.
Commissioned the Anambra River Basin solar irrigation project, covering 500 hectares.
Launched the Agri-Hub app and farmer registry, onboarding 50,000 farmers in 12 months.
Opened 10 new cassava and rice processing clusters, creating 3,000 direct jobs.
Leadership
Honourable Commissioner
Over 25 years in agricultural policy and rural development. Former World Bank consultant.
Permanent Secretary
Expert in public administration and agricultural finance. Led the digitisation of loan processing.
Director of Extension Services
Pioneer of the LGA-based extension model. Holds a PhD in Agricultural Extension from UNN.
Director of Livestock
Veterinary surgeon with specialisation in poultry disease management. 15 years in the field.
