The Anambra State Ministry of Sports is established to develop, promote and regulate sports across the state. We are driven by a vision to see Anambra become Nigeria’s foremost sports destination — a place where talent is discovered early, nurtured professionally and celebrated globally.

Appointed 2023. Former national athlete and sports administrator with over 20 years of experience.

Oversees policy implementation, budget and inter-agency coordination.

Leads talent scouting and school sports programmes across all LGAs.

Manages the design, construction and maintenance of state sports facilities.
Key Milestones
Creation of the Anambra State Ministry of Sports to centralise sports development.
Inaugural Anambra State Sports Festival held in Awka with 12 sports.
Systematic talent scouting begins in all 21 LGAs, reaching over 500 schools.
Major upgrade of Awka Township Stadium to international standard with synthetic track.
Partnership with National Institute for Sports to certify 150+ coaches and referees.
Groundbreaking for a multi-sport complex in Onitsha, including aquatic centre and indoor arena.
