History

The Ministry of Education has been at the heart of Anambra State's development since its creation in 1991. Over the decades, it has overseen the expansion of primary and secondary schools, the establishment of technical colleges, and the strengthening of teacher training institutions. In recent years, the Ministry has championed the adoption of digital learning tools, the renovation of dilapidated classrooms, and the introduction of free education up to junior secondary school. Today, it continues to evolve, guided by the state's vision of a 'Liveable and Prosperous Homeland'.

The current Commissioner, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, is a distinguished academic and administrator with over 25 years of experience in education policy and research.
