Who We Are
The Anambra State Ministry of Environment is the principal government agency charged with the protection, conservation, and sustainable management of the state's environment. Established to address pressing environmental challenges, we work collaboratively with communities, local governments, and development partners.

History
Created as part of the state's administrative structure to oversee environmental matters.
Launched a comprehensive plan to address gully erosion across sensitive areas.
Introduced monthly sanitation exercises and waste collection points in all 21 LGAs.
Set up a dedicated unit to coordinate climate adaptation and mitigation efforts.
Reached a landmark in the afforestation programme, restoring forest cover and reducing erosion.
