Our Services

Waste Management & Sanitation

Regulation and oversight of waste collection, disposal, and sanitation across all 21 LGAs. Includes licensing of waste operators and enforcement of sanitation laws.

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)

Review and approval of EIA reports for public and private projects. We ensure developments comply with environmental standards before implementation.

Erosion & Flood Control

Design and execution of erosion control structures, drainage systems, and flood early warning mechanisms. We also provide technical support to communities.

Climate Change & Afforestation

Implementation of tree-planting campaigns, climate adaptation projects, and greenhouse gas inventory. We promote renewable energy and green practices.

Pollution Control & Enforcement

Monitoring air, water, and land pollution levels. We issue permits, conduct inspections, and enforce penalties for non-compliance.

Public Health & Environmental Education

Community outreach, school programmes, and public awareness campaigns on hygiene, waste reduction, and environmental stewardship.

EIA Process

How to Apply for an Environmental Impact Assessment

If you are planning a project that may affect the environment, you are required to submit an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report to the Ministry. Our team will review your submission and provide feedback within 30 working days.

  • Submit a project proposal and screening form
  • Receive terms of reference for the EIA study
  • Conduct the study and submit the report
  • Public review and hearing (if required)
  • Decision: approval, conditional approval, or rejection

Our Waste Collection Process

Register Your Premises

Residents and businesses register with their LGA waste management office or licensed operator.

Schedule Collection

Waste collection is scheduled weekly or bi-weekly based on your location and volume.

Segregate at Source

Separate recyclables, organic waste, and general waste using colour-coded bins.

4

Collection & Disposal

Licensed collectors transport waste to designated transfer stations or landfills for proper disposal.

Need a Permit or Licence?

We issue permits for waste operators, pollution discharge, and environmental compliance. Apply online or visit our office.
