Our Services

Youth Empowerment Programs

We offer a comprehensive suite of programs designed to equip young Anambrans with the skills, resources, and networks they need to succeed. Our flagship initiatives include:

  • Skills Acquisition and Vocational Training: Free training in trades such as welding, plumbing, tailoring, ICT, and renewable energy installation. Programs run in partnership with accredited technical colleges and private sector mentors.
  • Entrepreneurship and Business Support: Access to startup grants, business plan mentorship, and low-interest loans through our partnership with the Anambra State Small Business Development Agency.
  • Job Placement and Internship Matching: A centralized platform connecting young job seekers with employers in both the public and private sectors. We also facilitate paid internships in construction and engineering firms.
  • Civic Engagement and Leadership Development: Workshops and town halls that empower youth to participate in community development and governance.

Public Works and Infrastructure

Our Works Directorate is responsible for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of all public infrastructure in Anambra State. Key services include:

  • Road Construction and Rehabilitation: From urban expressways to rural feeder roads, we ensure that every kilometer is built to high standards of durability and safety. Current focus areas include the Onitsha-Awka highway expansion and the Nnewi-Okigwe road upgrade.
  • Bridge and Drainage Systems: Design and construction of bridges, culverts, and stormwater drainage to prevent flooding and improve connectivity.
  • Public Building Maintenance: Renovation and upkeep of government offices, schools, hospitals, and markets. We also oversee the construction of new public buildings such as the Anambra State Digital Innovation Centre.
  • Community Infrastructure Projects: Small-scale projects such as boreholes, public toilets, and solar streetlights, implemented in partnership with local communities.

Youth Engagement in Public Works

We actively integrate youth into our infrastructure projects through:

  • Apprenticeship and On-the-Job Training: Young people are hired as apprentices on construction sites, learning trades from experienced engineers and artisans.
  • Youth-Led Subcontracting: Local youth cooperatives are given priority for small contracts such as landscaping, painting, and site cleanup.
  • Innovation Challenges: We host hackathons and design competitions where young people propose solutions to infrastructure challenges, with winning ideas funded and implemented.
